FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS

It's ok to have lots of questions.  Feel free to ask questions.  We have been privileged to cook and cater for a number of amazing parties, dinners, weddings and corporate events.

It's easy for us to answer your questions so you can relax and enjoy your celebration without having to worry.

Which areas do you cater to?

We cater to customers located in and outside the Perth metropolitan areas.  We do cater in the regional areas of Western Australia, from Geraldton to the Central Wheat belt region, to Margaret River to the Greater Southern Region.
 

Can I alter the menus and packages?

Absolutely!  As we hand make all of our gorgeous food and meals from scratch, it is easy for us to accommodate any special requests.

We can create any menu combination to suit a range of dietary requirements, tastes and budgets, so please feel free to ask.

We can also design a bespoke menu for you to suit different themes.

​

Can you cater for dietary requirements for some of our guests?

We do accommodate all sorts of dietary requirements from lactose, gluten free to peanut and nut allergies to vegetarian and vegan.

Let us know in advance and we can make sure all of your guests are well fed.

Is the wedding cake included in the catering package?

No, the wedding cake is charged separately.  We do have a wonderful pastry chef who makes beautiful and delicious cakes and other desserts.

Do you cater themes?

We love the excitement of creating new dishes for particular theme.  We have catered many themed parties including: The Godfather; Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: The Great Gatsby: and Living in the 70s.

How long does food keep on a grazing table?

We keep all food cool during travel to the location and venue.  Tables must be provided in a cool area away from direct sunlight.

​

Food on the grazing table can be left out for four hours, and then it must be disposed of.

​

How far in advance should I book?

For big events such as wedding clients usually book from 6 to 18 months out!  We are more than happy to accommodate last minute bookings, however this is subject to availability.  Smaller events we're able to accommodate with a very short lead time.

Do you supply the staff?  Are there extra costs?

Yes, we have a team of experienced, well presented kitchen, bar and front of house staff.  All events will include an overall hourly rate.  Chefs at $50 per hour for only the hours our chefs are at the event (minimum of 4 hours).  Prepping time will be free.  Our bar staff and wait person will be at $45 per hour (minimum of 4 hours).  If you do require an Event Manager/Co-ordinator, then $50 per hour (minimum 4 hours).

How much is the deposit and when is payment required?

To lock our services a 50% deposit is required.  The remaining amount is due two weeks prior to the event, whereby we shall finalise guest numbers and menu options.

​

Are you full insured?

Yes, we are fully insured.  We also have current food hygiene and health and safety training requirements.  We pride ourselves on having the best standards, enduring the best produce and food handling.

​

Will you use images from our event on Michelina Lawson Catering social media?

Yes, unless our clients explicit asks us not to use the images taken at their event.  We will use them on our social media platforms.
